Lilac Simple Syrup!
I waited a year to find lilacs and when i found a couple of bunches, I ended up making a whole lot stuff with lilacs. The flavor of lilac flowers is super sweet subtle, floral and slightly intense.
I will be using this Lilac simple syrup in my Lilac & Lemon Cake, you can also use this for cocktails and creams.
Lilac Simple syrup
- 1 Cup Lilac flowers
- 500 ml Water 2 cups
- 200 gm Sugar 1 Cup
Lilac Simple Syrup
Add the lilac flowers, sugar and water in a small pan.
Heat it until the sugar is dissolved and is syrupy.
Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature. Pour into a clean dry bottle and keep refrigerated.
Lasts for 2-3 weeks in the refrigerator.
Alternatively you can also heat up the sugar syrup and add the flowers and let it seep overnight to infuse the flavors.
