    Just like sugar spice and everything nice, we have our slight spicy and warm spices perfect for the winter. Whether you’re getting ready to build your own gingerbread house, or you’d like a gingerbread man for the kids. This gingerbread spice mix is a mélange of various earthy spices and perfect for a broad range of uses; in cakes, cupcakes, cookies and even in hot chocolate. 

    You can use this for all your Christmas baking and it doubles up as a lovely little gift idea! Just put a bow on the bottle, tie a twine or a pretty tag and there you have it, you’ve just spread some Christmas cheer.

    Gingerbread Spice Mix

    • Ginger : this warming spice, you can either use fresh ginger or dry ginger or ginger powder in a various dishes. Ginger is known for its medicinal qualities
    • Cinnamon: obtained from the inner bark of a tree, cinnamon spice is very aromatic and used in a variety of sweet and savoury dishes
    • All Spice : an intense and flavorful spice, which gives you a feeling of all the spices mixed together- I use this in baking and pickling. 
    • Nutmeg: another warm and slightly sweet spice to this mix. Another one of those flavors which can go sweet or savory 
    • Clove: these are dried flower buds from the clove tree and this aromatic spice has a host of health benefits, including its use as an anti-inflammatory.

Gingerbread spice mix, homemade spice mix for your Christmas baking or for edible gift

Ingredients

Gingerbread Spice Mix

  • 25 gm Ginger Powder 5 tsp
  • 40 gm Cinnamon Powder 2 tbsp + 2 tsp
  • 10 gm Nutmeg Powder 2 tsp
  • 10 gm Clove Powder 2 tsp
  • 15 gm All Spice powder 3 tsp/ 1 tbsp
  • 10 gm Pepper Optional

Instructions

Gingerbread Spice Mix

  1. In a small bowl, add all the spice powders. Mix thoroughly. 

  2. Store the gingerbread spice mix in a clean dry bottle.

  3. Add the spices in your cakes, cookies, pies and cookies!
