Ingredients
Salted Caramel Sauce:
Salted Caramel Sauce:
- Butter (cold and cubed) – 100gm
- Caster sugar – 200gm
- Heavy cream/ double cream (or) even the thick part of amul cream – 125ml
- Sea salt – 1/2 teaspoon

Pastry:
- Flour- 180gm + extra for dusting
- Butter – 100gm
- Egg yolk – 1
- Cold water – 30-50ml
- Pinch of salt
Apple Pie Filling:
- Apples -2 (golden delicious)
- Brown sugar – 5 tablespoons
- Lemon juice – 2 teaspoons
- Cinnamon powder – pinch
- Nutmeg powder – pinch
Method:
Pastry:
- In a large bowl, add the flour and salt. Using a pastry cutter or just your fingers mix the cold butter cubes.
- Add the cold water, teaspoon after teaspoon. until it forms a nice ball.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile make the filling
Filling:
- Chop the apples into small pieces, sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder and drizzle lemon juice on this and mix well. Chill it for a few minutes.
Making the Pie:
- On a well floured surface, roll out the pastry and cut into the shape you wish, i just cut it into rectangles.
- On a parchment sheet, place the pastry pieces, add a spoonful of the filling and scoop on a dollop of caramel sauce,
- Cover with another sheet of pastry.
- Using a pastry brush, brush some egg wash and sprinkle some granulated sugar.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Enjoy it warm with a dollop of cream or mascarpone cheese đŸ˜‰
