Ooooo Apple Jam… I don’t know why i haven’t made this until now 🙂 The recipe is super simple and takes only a handful of ingredients. The apple jam is made with sugar, cinnamon and water slow cooked for an hour or so and tada you get the most sticky sweet sweet apple jam. This apple jam is perfect as fillings for Brioche, pies and even cakes. Who am i kidding? just eat by the spoonfuls or slather a spoonful on a toast… its all dandy! 😀
Apple Jam
Apples cooked with sugar and cinnamon.
Ingredients
Apple Jam
- 5-6 Apples (Chopped) 750gm
- 200 gm Demerara Sugar 1 cup
- 50 gm White sugar 1/4 cup
- 2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 2 Sticks Cinnamon
- 2 tsp Cinnamon Powder
- 500-750 ml Water 2-3 cups
Instructions
Apple Jam
Clean and sterilise a glass jam bottle.
In a heavy bottom copper pan, or any other pan. Add 2 cups water, demerara, white sugar, cinnamon sticks and lemon juice.
Once the sugar is dissolved, add the chopped apple bits and cinnamon powder.
Cook on low-medium for about an hour or until the apple pieces are translucent. Once the jam is sticky and cooled down to room temperature, transfer the jam into the clean jar.
The jam can be kept in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.
