Triple Tipsy Temptation Cake _ Naked Cake with layers of Banana,Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cake with Whiskey Buttercream Frosting and a Whiskey Salted Caramel Glaze

The cake is 3 layered, from top: Banana, Peanut butter and Chocolate. It is filled and frosted with Whiskey buttercream frosting and a Whiskey Caramel sauce to glaze the top!

Ingredients: 
Cakes- (3 x 9 inch layers)

  • Flour – 250gm
  • Butter – 200gm
  • Sugar – 200gm 
  • Eggs – 4
  • Baking powder – 2 teaspoons
  • Vanilla extract – 2 teaspoons
  • Small bananas – 4/ big bananas – 2
  • Cocoa Powder – 2 tablespoons
  • Hot water – 1 tablespoon
  • Dark chocolate chunks – 50-75 gm (This is for lining the cake tin, depends how thick you want the chocolate layer)
  • Peanut butter – 50gm
  • Milk – 60ml

Whiskey Salted Caramel Sauce:

Whiskey Buttercream Frosting:

  • Butter – 150gm
  • Whiskey – 30ml
  • Icing sugar – 350gm 

Method:
Cakes: 

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line the baking tins with parchment sheet. 
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until smooth, pale and fluffy. 
  • Whisk in one egg at a time until thoroughly mixed. 
  • Sift in the flour and baking powder. Add the milk and mix well until thoroughly incorporated. 
  • Divide the batter equally into 3 bowls (use a digital scale, it helps a lot!)
    • Chocolate Cake: Line the baking with chocolate chunks. Mix the cocoa and hot water, add this to one bowl of the batter. Pour the mixture onto the baking tin lined with chocolate chunks. 
    • Peanut butter layer: Mix the peanut butter into another bowl of batter. 
    • Banana layer: Squash 4 small bananas and mix it in the last bowl of batter. 
  • Once all 3 batters are ready, Bake for about 30-35 minutes, check with a skewer to see if completely baked. 
  • once it is baked, let it cool on a cooling rack. 

Whiskey Buttercream Frosting:

  • In a large bowl, cream the butter until light and fluffy. Add half of the icing sugar and beat for a couple of minutes. 
  • Add the whiskey and the rest of the icing sugar and beat until completely mixed and a consistency for spreading.

Assembling the cake:

  • Cut the tops of the cake if uneven.
  • On a cake plate, place the chocolate cake layer, place a big dollop of buttercream and spread it evenly with a straight spatula.
  • Repeat the same for the peanut butter and banana layer. 
  • Add a buttercream layer on top 
  • Pour the whiskey salted caramel sauce over the cake so it forms a nice drip!
