Panna cotta

Last night mom and i were talking, she mentioned that she had something called “panna cotta” in Goa and that an Italian lady makes it and its quite nice. So i looked for a recipe and i found one that seemed quite easy to make.
I reduced the amount to fit my needs and it was quite a decent amount. I made 6 small glasses of it, more or less around 6 small bowls of it.

Ingredients

Milk – 180ml
Gelatin – 1 tablespoon
Cream – 2 tubs (500ml)
Honey – 40ml
Sugar – 1 tablespoon
Salt – pinch

Method

Pour the milk in a small bowl and sprinkle gelatin over the milk. Let it stand for about 5 minutes

Transfer the milk and gelatin mix into a heavy bottom saucepan or a wide saucepan and heat on medium heat until the gelatin dissolves, which is about another couple of minutes.

As soon as the gelatin dissolves, add in the cream, honey, sugar and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves. This also takes about 5 minutes.

Pour this into 6 glasses or small dessert bowls. Let it cool a bit and refrigerate for about 5-6 hours.

Serve with some fresh, canned berries or berry sauce. Trust me this is delicious.

Happy baking (although its not really baking)
